Neon Grid Snake
The classic snake loop: input, tick, collide, grow. Great for learning game loops without a framework.
Reference demo on this site
Playable on-site. Ian preferred this over Sky Dash after testing. Wall-death, grid sizes, D-pad — still play-test any AI rebuild of the prompt.

- Grid, snake, food spawn
- Keyboard + optional on-screen controls
- Score / best / speed ramp
- Pause + restart + settings for grid size
Starter prompt
Brief Create Neon Grid, a polished Snake browser game on a dark cyber grid. Wall death, score and best score, speed up over time, pause and restart, mobile D-pad, no external assets. Prevent instant reverse-into-self from bad input buffering. Vanilla JS.
Constraints Keep scope finishable. Document env vars. No secrets in client code. Prefer accessible UI. List assumptions at the end.
Hardening notes
- Keep tick rate stable (do not couple logic only to FPS in a fragile way)
- Document controls for first-time players on the title screen
